Job duties include but are not limited to:
- Maintain watering systems, including freezing prevention and or repairs because of freezing.
- Proper handling of calves and cows in various pregnancy and birthing stages, with additional care to accommodate cold and/or freezing temperatures at the time.
- Processing/sorting of calves to include sorting and taking care of sick animals in need of application of pharmaceuticals with ongoing treatment per protocol.
- Ongoing repair of feedlot equipment and facilities, including welding fences and structures.
- Operating equipment to haul corn using tractors and wagons.
- Remove manure from cattle pens.
- Maintenance of farm equipment and animal housing areas.
- Feeding, watering, herding, castrating, branding, weighing, catching, and loading animals
- Examining animals to detect diseases and injuries and ensure that they are in optimal health.
- Monitor corn stalk fields for grazing purposes and determine whether mother cows and calves should move to new grazing fields.
- Hauling feed from trailers to cows and calves.
- Maintaining winter animal housing areas; using diggers, shovels and other equipment needed
- Ongoing maintenance includes cleaning, maintaining and repairing equipment, various workshop tasks as well as maintenance of grain bins and general buildings
- Use various farming equipment like tractors, feed wagons, payloader and skid loaders.
Job requirements include but are not limited to:
- Minimum of three months verifiable experience.
- Workers must be able to obtain their drivers license within 30-90 days of hire.
- Workers will perform manual and physical work requiring extensive pushing, pulling, sitting or walking, frequent stooping, bending over and movements might be repetitive.
- Job duties include lifting agricultural tools and equipment that weigh up to 60lbs.
- Most work is performed mostly outdoors, and workers will be exposed to extreme cold temperatures.
- No texting and use of cellphone during working hours, while operating machinery, equipment and driving vehicles. All tools are provided by the employer.
- All tools are provided by the employer.
- Due to the use of farm equipment and vehicles, all employees are required to complete a post-hire drug screening at the employer’s expense. Failure to pass drug screening will result in termination.
- The Employer enforces a zero-tolerance policy for drugs and alcohol. Being under the influence or in possession of drugs or alcohol while on duty, at the worksite, or the employer provided housing, or employer equipment and/or vehicles will lead to immediate termination of employment.
- Smoking is prohibited in all farm buildings, vehicles, housing, and near equipment. These measures are essential to maintaining a safe and responsible work environment.
- Wage rate may increase with verifiable experience. Employer may reward exceptional work with monetary or other benefits in addition to those listed here in his sole discretion.
Wage: $17.84 per hour
3/4th guarantee apply – for detailed description, please require from employer.
Reimbursement for transportation and subsistence to worksite – 50% upon arrival and 50% at completion of work contract.
Housing will be provided should you not be able to return home at the end of each workday.
