Job duties include but are not limited to:
- Operate farm machinery to plant, spray, cultivate, harvest and store crops. Feeding, watering, herding, castrating, branding, weighing, catching and loading cattle.
- Examining animals to detect diseases, injuries and ensure that they are in optimal health.
- Assisting in birthing, administering medications, vaccinations, or insecticide.
- Monitor corn stalk fields for grazing purposes and determine whether mother cows and calves should move to new grazing fields.
- Move animals between pens, pastures and barns as directed
- Load/unload feed, supplies, and bedding materials.
- Assist in preparation of pastures, feedlots, and animal facilities for seasonal changes.
- Operate tractors, skid steers, and other farm equipment to haul feed, manure, and supplies
- Herd livestock to pastures for grazing or to scales, trucks, or other enclosures.
- Ongoing maintenance includes cleaning, maintaining and repair of equipment, various workshop tasks as well as maintenance of general buildings.
- Maintain and repair fencing.
- Ensure humane handling of animals
Wage: $20.02 per hour
3/4th guarantee apply – for detailed description, please require from employer
Reimbursement for transportation and subsistence to worksite – 50% upon arrival and 50% at completion of work contract
Housing will be provided should you not be able to return home at the end of each workday
