BLITZ CHAMPZ® Math League Coach

The BLITZ CHAMPZ® Math League serves to facilitate elementary and middle school students’ math proficiency by making math more accessible and engaging via the incorporation of arithmetic, friendly competition, strategy, diverse representation, and teamwork in a fast-paced sports-related context. The league is based upon BLITZ CHAMPZ®, a strategic football card game licensed by the National Football League®. BLITZ CHAMPZ® is utilized in 5th-8th grade math classrooms over a 4-week timeframe encompassed by pre- and post-utilization math skills assessments.

BLITZ CHAMPZ® Math League Coaches serve as liaisons between the BLITZ CHAMPZ® Coaching Coordinator and participating schools/teachers in a designated area/county/school district.

Job Specifications

• Engage professionally, respectfully, and enthusiastically with students and teachers in a manner demonstrative of BLITZ CHAMPZ® Math League core values of enhancing math education, building student confidence, teamwork, and friendly competition
• Conduct in-class demos of BLITZ CHAMPZ® rules of play
• Assist with administration of pre- and post-utilization skills assessments
• Assist teachers with recording and tracking of scoring data for students at participating schools

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Timeliness, reliability, and availability to flex schedule within school hours to maximize in-person engagement with participating teachers and students
• Experience in education, youth services, outreach, and/or group facilitation preferred
• Experience working with diverse communities preferred
• Strong time management skills
• Computer literacy; proficiency with Microsoft Excel and/or Google Sheets preferred
• Capable of successfully passing a background check and/or other vetting as required by participating schools
• Oral proficiency in additional language(s) preferred

Compensation

• $10/hour

Available Schedules

• BLITZ CHAMPZ® Math League Coaches will be assigned schedules during the months of September through May
