Compensation: $18-23 hourly wage

Job Summary
The Service Technician at Mobility City is responsible for providing high-quality repair, maintenance, and customer support services for mobility products and medical equipment. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, strong problem-solving skills, and excellent customer service. The Service Technician will work with a variety of mobility devices, such as scooters, power chairs, lift chairs, walkers, and other medical equipment, ensuring they meet the highest safety and operational standards.

The technician will be the primary point of contact for customers seeking repairs, routine maintenance, and product setup. This position requires the ability to work both independently and as part of a team, with a focus on delivering superior service and enhancing customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Expert Repair & Maintenance: Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair power scooters, complex power wheelchairs, lift chairs, ramps, and other durable medical equipment (DME). Perform both in-shop and on-site field service, utilizing electrical and mechanical expertise.
  • Customer & Sales Support: Deliver, assemble, and install new equipment at customer locations, providing training on safety and operation. Communicate clearly with customers regarding repair quotes, service timelines, and order status.
  • Logistics & Compliance: Accurately complete detailed service logs, work orders, and parts documentation. Maintain a clean, organized work area (shop and company van) and ensure compliance with all safety and uniform standards.
  • Marketing Support: Occasionally market services to local facilities, pharmacies, and doctor's offices.

Requirements

  • Experience: Previous experience in mechanical, electrical, or automotive repair is desired. Direct hands-on experience with mobility equipment (scooters, power chairs) is highly preferred.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required. Technical certifications or training in related fields are a plus.
  • Technical Skills: Strong ability to diagnose electrical and mechanical issues using diagnostic tools.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent communication, customer service, and time management skills. Must be reliable, attentive to detail, and able to work independently.
  • Physical: Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. and work in various physical positions (kneeling, bending) for extended periods.
  • Travel: Must have a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record for use of a company vehicle.
