Job duties include but are not limited to:
- Drive and operate farm machinery to plant, spray, cultivate, harvest and store crops.
- Attach farm implements such as plow, disc, and drill to a tractor.
- Till the soil, rock picking, plant and cultivate grain.
- Irrigation of rice and soybeans.
- Drain excess water from crops and assist in the irrigation of crops.
- Operate heavy farming equipment like tractors, 18-wheelers, spray rig.
- Tow harvesting equipment.
- Equipment maintenance - general lubrication incidental repair to farm machinery.
- General maintenance, including welding.
- Pick up and carry sacks of grain, load, and unload trucks.
Job qualifications and requirements
- Minimum of 3 months’ verifiable experience is required.
- Good communication skills in English will be beneficial.
- Workers must be reliable and timely.
- Must be able to obtain a driver's license within 30 - 90 days of hire. Experience in driving an 18-wheeler and tractors will be beneficial.
- Workers will perform manual and physical work requiring extensive pushing, pulling, sitting or walking, frequent stooping, bending over and movements might be repetitive.
- Job duties include lifting of agricultural tools and equipment that weigh up to 60lbs
- Work is performed outdoors and workers will be exposed to extreme temperatures and humid conditions.
- We enforce a zero-tolerance policy for drugs and alcohol. Being under the influence or in possession of drugs or alcohol while on duty, at the worksite, or the employer provided housing, or employer equipment and/or vehicles will lead to immediate termination.
- Smoking is prohibited in all farm buildings, vehicles, housing, and near equipment. These measures are essential to maintaining a safe and responsible work environment.
- No texting and use of cellphone during working hours, while operating machinery, equipment and driving vehicles.
- Wage rate may increase with verifiable experience. Employer may reward exceptional work with monetary or other benefits in addition to those listed here in his sole discretion.
- All tools are provided by the employer.
Rate: $13.40 per hour
3/4th guarantee apply – for detailed description, please require from employer
Reimbursement for transportation and subsistence to worksite – 50% upon arrival and 50% at completion of work contract
Housing will be provided should you not be able to return home at the end of each workday
