Job duties include but are not limited to:
- Check grain bins on a weekly basis for moisture, temperature, and proper function.
- Log results for each grain bin system.
- Based on log results workers must determine whether grain is ready for delivery.
- This process involves handling of equipment like fans, heaters – switching it on/off and move one bin to another.
- Maintenance of grain bin system.
- Maintain grain bin system to be clean, all spills picked up and processed.
- Maintain any breaks or leaks with the grain bin system – notify manager of ay breaks/leaks.
- Weekly lube of the grain bin system.
- Check the grain bin system after each weather event.
- Climbing up to the top checking each lid looking for leaks.
- Service of all grain equipment.
- Loading of grain haul truck to ensure readiness for road and delivery.
- Maintenance of trucks and trailers.
Job qualifications and requirements:
- Three months recent and verifiable experience is required for the job duties listed.
- Job duties include lifting of agricultural tools and equipment that weigh up to 60lbs.
- Workers will perform manual and physical work requiring extensive pushing, pulling, sitting, or walking, frequent stooping, and bending over and repeating movements.
- Work is performed mostly outdoors, and workers will be exposed to extremely severe and cold temperatures, and in some conditions, blizzards, snow and sleet.
- Workers must obtain a driver's license within 30-90 days following hire.
