Hourly Rate: $19.21
Job duties include but are not limited to:
- Crops are usually corn, soybeans, wheat, cane, milo, alfalfa and peas.
- Haul crops with farm semi-trucks and trailers to different fields and storage locations.
- Operate sprayers, tillers, planters, drillers, mowers, 4-wheelers, cultivators, grain carts, tractors, pickups with and without trailers, payloaders, skid loaders, and fuel truck.
- Spray chemicals, pesticides and fertilizer on fields.
- Service and do minimal repairs on irrigation pivots.
- Service vehicles and equipment which includes oil changes, adding wiper, antifreeze and brake fluids, tire changes, standard vehicle repairs (headlights, brake lights, mirror replacements, etc.).
- Clean shops, which include cleaning tools and putting them away, sweeping, putting supplies such as filters, brake cleaner, parts, etc., where they go and removing trash.
Job qualifications and requirements
- Job requires extensive walking, sitting, pushing, pulling, repetitive movements, frequent stooping and exposure to extreme outdoor temperatures.
- Employer will conduct post-hire criminal background checks at no cost to the employee and will not employ anyone with a felony/theft criminal background.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs or more. They will need to be able to hook up and unhook trailers from trucks or semis. Job requires a regular driver’s license.
- Requires 3 months experience.
- Employees will need to operate pickups in accordance with State and Federal Law.
- Employees should be able to run Case and John Deere Equipment.
- Employees need to have knowledge of irrigation pivots and wells, and how to service them. Employees must be able to communicate in English, and be able to follow instructions and communicate with others effectively.
- Employees will complete general farm duties as assigned. Per state regulations, employer is exempt from a commercial CDL requirement for farm trucking. No commercial or heavy truck driving is required.
