Our daily routine consists of:
- Maintain watering systems, including freezing prevention and or repairs because of freezing.
- Proper handling of calves and cows in various pregnancy and birthing stages, with additional care to accommodate cold and or freezing temperatures at the time.
- Processing (sorting) of calves to include sorting and taking care of sick animals in need of application of pharmaceuticals with ongoing treatment per protocol.
- Operating equipment to haul hay using tractors and wagons.
- Maintenance of farm equipment and animal housing areas.
Job duties include but are not limited to:
- Feeding, watering, herding, grazing, castrating, branding, weighing, catching, and loading animals
- Examining animals to detect diseases and injuries
- Assisting in birthing, administering medications, vaccinations, or insecticides
- Maintaining winter animal housing areas – cleaning stalls and sheds using disinfectant solutions, brushes, and shovels
- Drive trucks, tractors, and other farming equipment to distribute food to cattle
- Maintain ranch equipment
Job Qualifications and Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 months verifiable experience with no minimum education.
- Must be able to obtain a drivers license within 30-90 days of hire.
- Workers will perform physical and manual labor that might require extensive pushing, pulling, sitting and or walking, frequent stooping and bending over and movements might be repetitive.
- Job duties include lifting of agricultural tools and equipment that weigh up to 60lbs.
- Most work is performed outdoors, and workers will be exposed to cold and wet conditions.
- No texting and use of cellphone during working hours, while operating machinery, equipment and driving vehicles.
- All tools are provided by the employer.
Wage: $14.83 per hour
3/4th guarantee apply – for detailed description, please require from employer
Reimbursement for transportation and subsistence to worksite – 50% upon arrival and 50% at completion of work contract
Housing will be provided should you not be able to return home at the end of each workday
