Core Duties & Responsibilities:
- Staff Supervision & Training:
- Schedule staff, assign daily room sections and duties.
- Train new hires on cleaning protocols, safety, and customer service.
- Monitor performance, provide coaching, and handle disciplinary issues.
- Lead by example and step in to clean during shortages.
- Quality Control & Inspections:
- Inspect cleaned guest rooms, lobbies, and public areas for adherence to standards.
- Use checklists to ensure thoroughness (e.g., 18-point checks).
- Identify and report maintenance issues or safety hazards immediately.
- Inventory & Supplies Management:
- Track and manage stock of linens, cleaning supplies, and guest amenities.
- Order supplies, manage budgets, and ensure equipment is maintained.
- Coordination & Communication:
- Liaise with Front Desk for room status (vacant, occupied, discrepant) and guest requests.
- Communicate with Engineering for repairs and Laundry for linen.
- Provide reports and updates to management.
- Guest & Operations Support:
- Resolve guest complaints and special requests promptly and professionally.
- Manage lost and found procedures.
- Update room statuses in computer systems.
Daily Workflow Example:
- Morning briefings, task assignment, key distribution, VIP room checks.
- Ongoing inspections, status checks with front desk, maintenance coordination.
- End-of-shift reporting, key collection, and planning for the next day.
